Went with OM group to Bukit Timah Plaza/Shopping Centre for lunch today at KFC.
I
was
so
pissed.
Okay fine. Maybe irritated. !@#$
I bought the Cheesy BBQ Meltz thing with the Cheese Fries trade-up. And I couldn't finish the BBQ thing so yeah, went to get a plastic bag (for SQ too, cos she couldn't finish her burger). When I came back...
The tray was gone. Gone with my Meltz. Okay fine, maybe 'twas only one piece. But thing is, what if I hadn't touched it at all? Poof, money gone, stomach empty.
Seriously, the auntie didn't even bother to ask SQ (who was sitting beside me) whether she could clear the tray. Though there were many people waiting, and of course she wanted to clear the place quick, but point is,
why couldn't she just go, "Can I clear this?" before actually doing so?Is it that hard to say a simple sentence?
I was literally fuming mad. I mean, what if I hadn't touched the entire thing at all? Hello, we're not people who can afford to just give money away, okay? Okay maybe some people won't bother so much about it, but I'm not one of those people. Call me petty for getting mad over this small thing, but really,
I paid for the food.Yeah I gave "feedback" to KFC already. As in through the website. You know, if there weren't so many people there, and the fact that I was in school uniform, I would've cursed loudly. Bah, I have a right to.
Seriously, all that suff about SG being a leading example in service standards?
Rubbish.
They shouldn't look at those posh restaurants because, duh, you pay 10% service charge for the place, and if there's no good service, then go sue the place. They should actually observe these places (fastfood outlets, coffee shops) to see if there's good service.
You're right in saying, "But I don't pay for the service in these places, do I?" and say that nah, I shouldn't use these so-called "lower-class places" (not that I'm saying that they are) as benchmarks for good service. But, good service is service that, even if you don't pay for it, is still good, no matter the place. If you say that you HAVE to pay for (even remotely) good service, then it's like saying you HAVE to pay me for doing a good/kind deed.
And SQ didn't realise she was clearing the trays. It's not her fault, no. I mean, how would you like it if you were on the last day of your holiday, and were staying in a hotel, but not in your room, and the staff just cleared out the room, without asking, dumped your bags in the hallway, to make space for a new family?
Duh, you'd be damned pissed.
Like my mum said, it's mostly old people who do this. Bah whatever. I'm not entirely blaming her. Just... hoping that it won't ever happen again? Okay fine, I'm mad.
Though I'll still be mad if I ever go to that place again but well, what's done cannot be undone.
(Other) views on the matter would be great. I s'pose.
